OTTO 1:18 1964 Citroen 2cv Sahara Jaune Panama OT1027
The 2CV Sahara is a highly valued model these days, with a price tag approaching €200,000! It has to be said that the Sahara 'Deudeuche' is very special. In fact, at the end of the 50s, the French firm unveiled a prototype 2CV capable of competing with the Jeep and coping with the extreme conditions of the desert. It was a car designed for oil production in the Sahara, and its name came from the African desert where France had numerous activities in this field. The 2CV was originally designed by Mr Bonafous, a public works engineer living in the Landes region of France. His two-engine design caught the eye of the car manufacturer, and so in the early 1960s, this specific model was marketed. Renamed the "2CV 4x4" following Algeria's independence, Citroën's 4x4 car was a commercial failure, with only 693 examples sold, including 80 for the Guardia Civil (Spanish Gendarmerie). This further explains its current rarity and very high market value!
