The Mercedes-Benz 230E (W123) was introduced in 1968 and was the successor to the legendary Mercedes-Benz tail fin. As a 200, the vehicle produced 95 hp and reached a top speed of up to 165 kilometers per hour. Numerous W123s were also purchased by the Bundeswehr during its construction period, where they were mainly used as command vehicles for division commanders.
